Collection: Damascus Steel Knives

Our line of Damascus Steel knives are uniquely designed with 67 layers of premium high-carbon stainless steel, and a blade core composed of  10Cr-15Co-MoV (also known as VG-10 see below for more details). Because of how well VG-10 holds an edge and its ability to withstand rust, it has become the steel of choice for professional chefs and cooking enthusiasts.

Now, what exactly does that mean? Let's break it down, in easy to understand terms:

• 10Cr (Chromium) core allows the blade to be incredibly strong and stable, providing durability and long lasting sharpness. Chromium also increases hardness, tensile strength, and toughness as well as resistance to corrosion, heat and wear.
  
• 15Co (Cobalt) increases strength and hardness, and permits quenching (a forging process used to reinforce the carbon steel in higher temperatures), as well as intensifying the individual effects of other elements, resulting in an increased resistance to heat and corrosion.
  
• MoV refers to Molybdenum Vanadium. Molybdenum increases the strength, hardness, and overall toughness of the alloy metal with which it is fused. Vanadium increases the strength, wear resistance and overall toughness of the steel. It also provides corrosion resistance by contributing to the oxide coating.
  

Additionally, each of our knives carry a beautifully designed North American Desert Ironwood Handle, ensuring a firm grip and precise cuts... and if we're being honest here, allows our knives stand out above the rest, with it's gorgeous warm color-tones. They're pretty and practical... and that is always a bonus in our book!
